NASARAWA STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES INSTITUTIONAL WEBSITE
Institutional Website
Client: NASARAWA STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY
The Problem
Nasarawa State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Keffi, needed a modern institutional digital platform capable of presenting its growing academic, administrative, and institutional activities in a structured and accessible way. The project addressed the need for a platform that would enable prospective students, current students, staff, researchers, partners, and the general public to easily access important institutional information, including academic programmes, staff information, institutional news, publications, admissions information, and other College resources. As the College continues to expand its academic programmes, staff strength and institutional activities, a simple static information page would not be sufficient. The platform needed to be structured to support additional digital services over time. The project documentation therefore envisioned the website as the foundation for a broader NasCOHST Digital Ecosystem, including future student, staff, research, journal, repository, and other institutional systems.
Our Solution
CODE WITH IMAN designed and developed a custom Django-powered institutional web platform tailored to the operational and communication needs of NasCOHST. Rather than building only a collection of static pages, the platform was structured as a scalable web application with dedicated modules for different areas of the College. Key components include: 1. Institutional information and profiles 2. Academic schools and programmes 3. Staff directory and staff profiles 4. Institutional news and publications 5. Publication categories and author profiles 6. Search and filtering 7. Related publications 8. Rich-text publication content 9. Publication attachments 10. Featured content 11. Contact and feedback functionality 12. Responsive user interface 13. Administrative content management The publications functionality was specifically developed beyond a conventional “News” section, with features such as categories, rich-text content, slugs, attachments, featured articles, related articles, author profiles, comments/moderation, search, and future journal functionality. Django Website Deployment.txt The architecture was also designed for progressive expansion, with planned integration of student services, a research and journal platform, an institutional repository, and other digital systems
The Outcome
The project resulted in a modern, scalable institutional digital platform for NasCOHST, providing a central online presence through which the College can communicate its academic programmes, people, activities, news and publications. More importantly, the project established a technical foundation that can be expanded beyond an institutional website into a broader digital ecosystem. The platform’s development roadmap identifies future possibilities including: * Student portal * Staff portal * Research repository * Journal management system * Learning management system * Digital library * Institutional repository * Public health data portal Django Website Deployment.txt This makes the project significant for CODE WITH IMAN because it demonstrates the ability to develop custom institutional information systems, rather than simply designing websites.
